Last November 2021, I officially turned 25 years old. I never thought that my friends from different circles prepared a surprise for me. I was so touched for what they did. I know how hectic their schedules were, but they still managed to exert an effort to let me feel valued and appreciated.
First surprise was from colleague and a very good friend of mine, Mamshie Wilg and her best friend Sheena. They prepared for a surprise dinner at Chicken and Beer in Streetscape Banilad, Cebu City, Philippines. We ate together and then later on they surprised me with a cake and sang a “Happy Birthday song.” I am just so grateful to have them. This is already the second time that they surprised me on my Birthday.
Second surprise was from my colleagues. They are not just workmates to me, but very good friends as well. I am fully aware how busy they were since it was also peak season at work. To my surprise as I reported to the office, my table was full of decorations already. There were balloons and pictures hanging. I literally cried for what they did. Thinking about the time and effort they exerted after office hours is just so sweet.
Third surprise was from my college friends Cloe & Angel. They were so busy with their skincare business during my Birthday so I wasn’t really expecting that they are planning out something for me. Since they can’t be with me physically, they surprised me through a food delivery from “Grab Food.” They ordered Red velvet cake and coffee from Cebu Cardinal Bakeshop. They know exactly that these are my favorites. I was so happy and grateful for what they did.
With all the blessings that poured during my Birthday, I came to realize that maybe I’ve done something good in the past to deserve all of these. I’m so grateful to God for the most precious gift that I’ve received during my Birthday and that was the “Gift of genuine friendship.” I am so thankful to all the people who made my day extra special. I’m really the type of person who is so appreciative. Even the simplest things in life could already make me smile. I am so blessed to have them in my life.
Cheers to more years of thriving and inspiring!
