It is already summer time here in the Philippines and I just miss doing Scuba diving in Apo Island. This place is considered as one of the best diving spot in the Philippines.
If you are coming from Dumaguete City, Philippines, you can head on to to Malatapay Apo Seaport in Zamboangita thru a public transportation or a private car. If you are having the public transportation, you could tell the driver to drop you off exactly at Malatapay market. From Malatapay market, this is where you are going to ride a boat going to Apo Island for the scuba diving adventure. The ones that we ride on going to Apo Island was also the same boat and the same locals who took us back to Malatapay market after our scuba diving experience in the Island.
Upon arriving at the Island, we were greeted by the locals there. We had to sign up our names on the log book and then we had the diving seminar (which is included already on the fee that we paid which is 2,500.00 by that time) before we go into the waters. Since this is our first time to do scuba diving, (except for one of our friends named Eman) we all listened attentively on the instructions given to us because the moment that we go underwater, it would all be sign languages that will be used to communicate to our diving masters. I really learned a lot from the discussion and I got so excited to check off my bucket list for scuba diving.
In my experience, I got to see a lot of colorful coral reefs, species of fish, green sea turtle and other marine life. Apart from checking off scuba diving on my bucket list, this experience is also a great reminder for us to be responsible citizens so that these beautiful marine life will not be destroyed. I would definitely come back here soon.
Cheers to more diving experience in the future.
