Visiting Malapascua has been on my Travel Bucket List for quite a long time so when there was an opportunity to go there however quickly, you know what happened (these photos did not just magically appear on my camera roll after all haha).
It was the last quarter of 2020 and my friends and I were itching for some vitamin Sea - who wouldn't, right? Staying at home for that looong period of time makes you want to go literally anywhere just to get out of the house. Crazy time if you think about it. Anyhow, we made plans on having a road trip somewhere - nay, anywhere but here - and one of them suggested we hit Daanbantayan as she got a contact who can secure us a place to stay. Yay, finally after months and months of being locked at home, we're going to the beach! (Insert heart eyes emojis here)
I'd skip the story of how we got to Daanbantayan as I'd be posting photos of that pretty soon (wink, wink) so let's fast-forward to the next morning. As we were all seated with hot cups of cappuccinos on one hand and a fork with a greasy bacon on the other, we talked about what we're going to do on that day. Local folks suggested we visit the nearby islands like Bantayan or Malapascua. It wouldn't hurt if we go visit, they say. My friends started to discuss among themselves about what to do with this information. After a good twenty minutes, it was settled: Malapascua it is!!

IT WAS MY FIRST TIME VISITING MALAPASCUA and my jaw dropped. Whoa. What a beautiful island! I mean - look at that thing of beauty. It's worth repeating how beautiful the island is because it has charmed me. Oh, I did it again. It's a picture of a paradise one would hope for~! The sky was perfectly blue and the sun was hot on my cheeks. As soon as my feet hit the shore, I took photos of this enchanting place and then my friends and I swam. I could do this allllll dayyyyyy, I thought. Being by the ocean is so relaxing you almost forget you have to go back to the city after a good few hours. Bummer. Anyway, we ate lunch by the shore - grilled fish and meat with tomatoes and onions: perfect!
I would love to go back and the next time I'd visit, I'll make sure it's not just a couple of hours that I get to stay in Malapascua Island but a day or two or more - we'll see! 😊
