On Sunday, I and a few people including friends, acquaintances and family decided to visit this place called fish farm, at a place called ogudu in Lagos State. It wasn't specifically all about fish as the name of the place might suggest. It's more like a place where you could relax, eat, drink, hold an event, and see some really astonishing views. I've been in places like this in the past, but not exactly like this. I guess the reason it was called fish farm was because they had a place where fishes are being bred. These fishes could then be cooked and served at the behest of the customers. It wasn't prepared until it's been requested for, I guess one of the reasons why it's so is because to preserve that seafood taste and that particular freshness. But then, most places I've gone to had great views, lovely experience but then terrible food, this want the same for here. Although I wouldn't qualify the food in the superlative form, but I'd say I wasn't disappointed, and it was okay.
The space for this place was huge, the arena was built for comfort. This is particularly because the landed area is expanded, cannot measure by just saying, but having space when it comes to a place like this will guarantee you fun. It was crowded to a particular extent, but the size of the place made it quite unnoticeable.
Apparently, the place was expensive and this is probably due to the luxury. I am not really a fan of alcohol, but this was something that was evidently expensive. Another thing that was expensive was the fish. This was the main event or the main dish in particular. I wasn't particularly elated by the fish, but it wasn't entirely bad, but one thing is the price actually didn't match the experience. (I made a whole different video to show these dishes) It's probably a thing that's rampant here (prices of commodities are often determinant on the locale) The price of the fish is about $14 per dish, the liquor was about $16 each, and we had varieties of soft drinks going for like $4 each.
There were herbal & alcoholic mixtures too for about $5 The rice and chicken, with goat meat went for about $6 each and at the end of the day we spent about $200 including transportation and all. This might look cheap but then, it's quite expensive, and the naira recently has plummeting.
All in all, it was awesome to relax and have a breath of fresh air. In fact, we stayed in different places for the meal and for the drinks. For the food, we choose the upper view, where we could eat and get a view of the land. They called this place the VVIP section and everything eaten in this place is $1 more expensive and while this was extortion at best, a lot of people are gladly paying to actually get the view of the land. It's probably one of the best places I've been to, the area is serene, it's off from noise, work and the regular lifestyle of people and this was probably was it was a befitting experience.
