Since the beginning of February, it's like Lagos is on fire! I mean the weather has been unbearably hot and I made sure not to walk under the sun during the day, if I could help it. As usual, we complained and wished for the rainy season to begin so the weather could be a bit cool. The fans and ACs worked overtime, that is, when our power company did not switch off the light! Hehe.
Today has been sublime and beautiful because…yes, you guessed right —it rained!
Well, it's not the first rain of the year in my part of the city. It drizzled a bit last Sunday with a strong, dusty wind. Very dusty.
So imagine our relief when the clouds became dark and heavy this morning. A big relief! I don't like hot weather because it's just uncomfortable and can make a person sickly. Some people got sick from heat stroke during this period.
I couldn't resist when I saw the dark, heavy clouds rolling around in the sky announcing the coming rain, I was excited. I'm sure everyone was too. I stood outside and took these pictures from the balcony.
The wind was so cool and refreshing. I even shot a short (few seconds) video of the rolling clouds before the rains descended.
It rained for about fifteen minutes. It was not much but made a big difference. The grounds are wet and the weather a bit cool. What a relief!
I relaxed all through the rain watching a TV series. We love the rain at the beginning but when it becomes too much, we then complain and wish for it to stop. Lol. What a circle!
I hope you are having a relaxing Sunday as well. Thanks to for hosting #sublimesunday and
for initiating #beautifulsunday!
