Apenas me la ofertaron la inscribí porque, aunque no es de mi pensum, es un tema que me apasiona muchísimo y para los que me conocen o tienen tiempo viendo mis post saben que soy fanática del maquillaje y el manicure, así como todo lo que he aprendido ha sido mayormente de forma empírica, ahora hacerlo de una forma más formal y guiada es un sueño para mí.

La primera clase fue una bienvenida, para conocernos todos y así mismo conocer a nuestro profesor, León Padilla, director de arte que tiene años en el medio y es increíble en su trabajo así que es un honor que un profesional como él nos dé clases.
Aprovechando que estamos saliendo de la temporada de Halloween, nuestra primera actividad es crear un Zombie Venezolano, inspirándonos o tomando como referencia a Miss Argentina de la primera película de Beetlejuice de Tim Burton; para la segunda clase llevamos el boceto de nuestro personaje, en lo personal tenía muchas ideas pero poco presupuesto así que decidí crear un personaje con varios elementos que tengo en casa y así nació mi Zombie Fanática de los Leones del Caracas.

Taking advantage that we are coming out of the Halloween season, our first activity is to create a Venezuelan Zombie, inspired or taking as reference Miss Argentina from the first Beetlejuice movie by Tim Burton; for the second class we took the sketch of our character, personally I had many ideas but little budget so I decided to create a character with several elements that I have at home and thus was born my Zombie Fan of the Leones of Caracas.
La asignación no era solo crear la estética de un personaje y ya sino que teníamos que diseñarla desde cero, con su historia, sus motivos e incluso explicar el cómo murió y porqué o cómo volvió a la vida.
La historia de mi personaje es simple pero muy apegada a la realidad del fanatismo al Baseball aquí en Venezuela, los eternos rivales siempre han sido serán Los Leones del Caracas y Los Navegantes del Magallanes, estos dos equipos y su fanaticada han sido enemigos desde los inicios de este deporte en el país y se sabe que por fanatismos ciegos, han ocurridos asesinatos y accidentes en nombre de uno de los dos equipos; en base a esto, mi personaje murió en medio de una confrontación con un Magallanero por un botellazo en la cabeza pero su molestia y amor por su equipo es tan grande que revivo para seguir peleando por el honor de sus Leones.

The story of my character is simple but very attached to the reality of Baseball fanaticism here in Venezuela, the eternal rivals have always been Los Leones del Caracas and Los Navegantes del Magallanes, these two teams and their fans have been enemies since the beginning of this sport in the country and it is known that due to blind fanaticism, there have been murders and accidents in the name of one of the two teams; based on this, my character died in the middle of a confrontation with a Magallanero by a bottle in the head but his annoyance and love for his team is so great that he revived to continue fighting for the honor of his Leones.
Los bocetos fue la parte más complicada porque tengo muchos años sin dibujar, admito que tuve que imprimir el boceto de la cara y dibujar sobre ella porque es la parte del cuerpo que más trabajo me cuesta crear; sin embargo el cuerpo sí lo dibujé yo usando como referencia unos figurines que encontré en Pinterest.
Diseñar desde cero este personaje, con su estética, historia y hasta personalidad ha sido una de las mejores actividades que he tenido, lo complicado es que casi todas las materias de este semestre me están demandando mucho proceso creativo y admito que me ha costado seguir el paso de todas, a veces me quedo sin ideas y me bloqueo pero sé que puedo lograrlo.
The sketches were the most complicated part because I have many years without drawing, I admit that I had to print the sketch of the face and draw on it because it is the part of the body that is more difficult for me to create; however I did draw the body using as a reference some models that I found on Pinterest.
Designing from scratch this character, with its aesthetics, history and even personality has been one of the best activities I've had, the complicated thing is that almost all the subjects of this semester are demanding me a lot of creative process and I admit that it has cost me to keep up with all of them, sometimes I run out of ideas and I get blocked but I know I can do it.
Definitivamente esta es una de mis clases favoritas de este semestre, aunque todas me están encantando a su manera, excepto una que no termina de atraparme, Maquillaje y Cámara son de mis preferidas; espero que este semestre siga así de excelente como empezó, también espero no agotarme tanto física como mentalmente así como en semestres anteriores aunque eso está difícil porque a partir de aquí empieza la Tesis.

This is definitely one of my favorite classes of this semester, although I'm loving them all in their own way, except one that doesn't quite catch me, Makeup and Camera are my favorites; I hope this semester continues as excellent as it started, I also hope I don't exhaust myself both physically and mentally as well as in previous semesters although that's difficult because from here begins the Thesis.
