De paseo a la ciudad de Mérida en Venezuela me tropecé con este hermoso lugar muy cerca de las poblaciones de San Isidro y Apartaderos.
La Laguna de Mucubají se encuentra ubicada en el Parque Sierra Nevada, en el estado Mérida en Venezuela. Su nombre se debe a la forma en la que los habitantes indígenas la llamaban. Pues, mucubají significa “sitio del agua grande”. Es una de las lagunas más grandes de la región.
Las aguas de la laguna son frías al extremo; la temperatura ambiente es muy fría. Además, en muchas ocasiones, estas aguas se encuentran cubiertas por un manto de neblina que la hace ver un lugar increíble.

While walking to the city of Mérida in Venezuela, I stumbled upon this beautiful place very close to the towns of San Isidro and Apartaderos.
The Mucubají Lagoon is located in the Sierra Nevada Park, in the state of Mérida in Venezuela. Its name is due to the way the indigenous inhabitants called it. Well, mucubají means “place of big water.” It is one of the largest lagoons in the region.
The waters of the lagoon are extremely cold; the ambient temperature is very cold. Furthermore, on many occasions, these waters are covered by a blanket of fog that makes it look like an incredible place.
