A sacred place 20 km from Ancona, a town with a population of 12 thousand people, annually receiving millions of pilgrims and tourists who want to see and touch the walls of the Holy House (Santa Casa). From Ancona, it's a 20-minute train ride here, then 20 minutes up the stairs. At the top of the hill stands the Santuario della Santa Casa (Sanctuary of the Holy House), a basilica with an octagonal dome. Inside the basilica, in place of the altar, the Holy House is kept (9 by 4 meters, originally with three walls). According to legend, the Virgin Mary grew in this house and the Annunciation took place, and at the end of the 13th century the house from Nazareth was moved to Italy.
