On May 12, 1930, French pilot Jean Mermoz made the first transatlantic mail flight from Saint-Louis in Senegal to Nadal in Brazil. This enabled Aéropostale, where he served, to establish regular air links between Europe and South America. The hotel where the Aeropostal pilots stayed in Saint-Louis was called the Hotel de la Poste. Was among the pilots and Antoine de Saint-Exupery. The postal hotel is still the main meeting place for foreigners who find themselves in Saint-Louis. Next to it is the post office and the Aeropostal Museum, which I almost reached.
