Hi my loving Hivers, Greetings from Sri Lanka. Last weekend became a beautiful destination that will stay in my memory for a long time. We were lucky enough to be able to reach even the most beautiful places in nature, which do not have many tourist attractions. After Saturday night, we expected to leave for swimming on Sunday morning to the famous Tissamaharama Lake or Lunugamwehera Reservoir. But there was a certain risk as there are crocodiles in those two lakes. After telling that to the owner of Riverside Cabana, he told us about a reservoir that we had never been to before. The name of that reservoir is Weerawila Reservoir. When going from Debarawewa town towards Weerawila, you will come across this reservoir when you go ahead along a sandy road to Punchipalam. It can also be reached along the bunt from Pannegamuwa.
Due to the lack of rain, we had to go down to the reservoir to take a bath, as water is being distributed only to the paddy fields these days. The sluice is opened only during the respective hours. When I asked the villagers nearby, they said that there is no news about crocodiles in this reservoir. However, we started swimming cautiously. A large crowd did not stay at this place as it is not very popular. As other people also took bath, we did our work without fear. It could be identified by the presence of traditional boat moorings that engage in fresh water fishing in this reservoir. The fact that bougainvillea bushes and cacti suitable for the harsh environment are also planted and provided in a garden can be a reason to increase the attraction. Thanks for visiting. See you soon. Have a nice day.
