Hoy en este jueves de #TBT quiero compartir unas fotos que tengo como recuerdo de una de las primeras salidas que tuvimos aquí en Curitiba para hacer diligencias y junto a ellas les hablo un poco de ese día que por cierto fue bien loco.
Today on this #TBT Thursday I want to share some photos that I have as a souvenir of one of the first outings we had here in Curitiba to run errands and along with them I tell you a little about that day that by the way was pretty crazy.
Fue un día jueves de octubre cuando decidimos ir al centro de la ciudad a en busca de un banco para solicitar un documento que nos pedían en nuestro trabajo y era algo que solo podíamos hacer un jueves porque era nuestro día libre. Ese día nos fuimos con nuestros documentos hasta el centro y estando allá tratamos de ubicar un banco por medio de Google Maps, al ver los resultados de la búsqueda nos dirigimos al que vimos más cercano y de camino fui tomando las fotos que les muestro aquí, incluso pasamos por una plaza muy linda con muchos árboles y quise parar un momento para tomarnos unas selfies para recordar esa salida, ya que además en ese entonces no nos habíamos tomado fotos desde que llegamos a Brasil.
It was a Thursday in October when we decided to go downtown to look for a bank to request a document that our work required and it was something we could only do on a Thursday because it was our day off. That day we went with our documents to the center and while there we tried to locate a bank using Google Maps, when we saw the search results we went to the closest one and on the way I took the photos that I show you here, we even passed by a very nice square with many trees and I wanted to stop for a moment to take some selfies to remember that outing, since at that time we had not taken photos since we arrived in Brazil.
Llegando al banco solicitamos el documento que necesitábamos y nos dijeron que no era en el banco que lo debíamos pedir sino en el mismo trabajo y llevarlo al banco, eso em confundió mucho porque todos mis compañeros nos dijeron que ese documento ellos lo obtuvieron en el banco pero a nosotros nos dijeron lo contrario en el banco. No nos quisimos quedar con la duda y ubicamos otra sede de este banco y nos dirigimos a ella pero al llegar resultó ser solo un banco para retiros y depósitos y eso no nos servía.
When we arrived at the bank we asked for the document we needed and they told us that we didn't have to ask for it at the bank but at work and take it to the bank. That confused me a lot because all my coworkers told us that they got that document at the bank but we were told the opposite at the bank. We didn't want to be left with the doubt and we located another branch of this bank and we went to it but when we arrived it turned out to be only a bank for withdrawals and deposits and that didn't work for us.
Ese día caminamos muchísimo y nunca dimos con un banco donde pudiéramos hacer ese trámite, además que en ese entonces no conocíamos la ciudad y solo nos guiabamos por el Google Maps y aun así nos perdíamos por no conocer las calles ni los lugares a donde necesitabamos llegar. Después de todo si pudimos obtener el documento que necesitábamos pero días después en una sede del banco cercana a nuestro trabajo que no conocíamos y fue más fácil y rápido de lo que pensaba, al final nuestro primer intento solo nos sirvió para caminar y explorar la ciudad además de dejarnos la experiencia de ese día.
That day we walked a lot and we never found a bank where we could do that procedure, and at that time we didn't know the city and we only used Google Maps as our guide and we still got lost because we didn't know the streets or the places we needed to go to. After all, we were able to get the document we needed but days later at a bank branch close to our work that we didn't know and it was easier and faster than I thought. In the end, our first attempt only served to walk and explore the city and left us with the experience of that day.
