El hecho de decir "hay que ir al centro" cuando vivíamos en Maturín (Venezuela) era una tortura solo de pensarlo, pues, nada más tomar el transporte público era una locura y ni se diga tener que caminar entre tanta gente.
The mere thought of saying "we have to go downtown" when we lived in Maturín (Venezuela) was torture, because simply taking public transportation was madness, let alone having to walk among so many people.
Sin embargo, aquí en Curitiba ir al centro a mi me encanta porque aquí es bastante diferente, el centro de esta ciudad tiene un ambiente bastante tranquilo, es seguro y además es lindo, lo que hace que esa experiencia de "ir al centro" sea totalmente diferente e incluso positiva.
However, here in Curitiba, I love going downtown because it's quite different. The city center has a very peaceful atmosphere, it's safe, and it's also beautiful, which makes the experience of "going downtown" completely different and even positive.
No solemos ir mucho al centro de la ciudad pero cuando lo hacemos yo lo disfruto mucho y la última vez que fuimos fue la semana pasada. Caminamos un poco y al final paramos a tomar algo. Ese momento lo pasamos bastante bien, todo estaba tranquilo y el clima estaba fresco, lo que hizo que nuestro pequeño paseo por el centro fuera más ameno.
We don't usually go to the city center much, but when we do, I really enjoy it, and the last time we went was last week. We walked around a bit and then stopped for a drink. We had a really nice time; everything was quiet and the weather was cool, which made our little stroll through the center even more pleasant.
