Hey guys! How was your weekend? Hope everything is fine. I made a walk over to the National Park in Lobau after lunch today. Although the sun was shining, it was still cold at 10°C. it had been a beautiful walk seeing those huge, tall bare trees. The moment I reached the bridge, I was kind of shocked that the pond was all empty and dried -up. It had been just about a month since we came back from Andalusia. The title image you are seeing is the pond that got dried. It looked so devastated and I haven´t seen such status because even in the past when I came here, there had always been water in winter.
I have added the 2 images of the pond taken last May 2021 as comparison to that of the image today, it really looked so flattened. Oh well, it did not rain that much and the city did not have snow in the past months either. But, I have high hopes that it will rain in Spring a lot, at least I hope so, otherwise the ducks and the swans will have to find a new habitat.
So I walked around a bit....Lobau is really a gift to us because, first, it´s very near our flat , just about 1.5 Km. From our street, there is a pathway in the middle of the fields going to the National Park. Left and right fields are being cultvated for crops. When I reached the Park, I went inside the wooded area and saw people trailing the other dried pond farther, the bare trees are amazing to look at with the blue sky as backdrop. I have taken images as I passed them and these are little things that I observed made me a jolly person...Spring is just around the corner and anytime, it will surprisingly get warm.
