June 25th was the 9th anniversary of my mother's death. My sisters and I we went to make merit for my mother , father and brothers at the temple. According to the beliefs of Buddhism when people die you can make merit. So that the spirits will receive the merit that we have done for them. These principles cannot be proven to be true or not. But sometimes it's for peace of mind that if we do it, their souls might actually be granted. It's just a belief.
And today is the anniversary of my mother's passing. My sister and I would like to make a big donation. Besides mother, there is also father he passed away just over a year ago. and also has two older brothers. Including grandparents who have passed away, we still dedicate merit to them. Various creditors according to belief And on that day we prepared to cook food and go to the temple to offer to the monks, and in the late morning we also offered things.
Buddhist beliefs When the cremated body still had the bones of the deceased, it was brought to the temple. We put it in the wall of the temple in a small space. It is like a new house, There were only three people inside the bones. My father's bone were in his hometown, so we didn't bring his bone with them.
Offering these things is called bangsakul. It is a big merit making for the deceased by specifying their name and surname. When offering things to monks, they chant bangsakul, dedicating the merit to the souls who come to receive the merit. Then pour water and say that we have made merit for them, come and receive it. Then put the food in a banana leaf container in front of the relics, light incense sticks, light candles and pour water to say it again.
