On the weekend we visited a festival. Usually from Spring til the end of summer, there are festivals nearly every weekend. Once the summer festival season finishes, the winter Christmas markets start, and the tour of your favorite Christmas markets each weekend begins.
We are nearing the end of summer and were lucky with the rain here as in the morning it had rained. But my friend mentioned that it should be good in the afternoon so we headed to the festival.
There were lots of things going on for people of all ages and it was very well visited but not over full like when you go to Frankfurt Christmas market!
I took some pictures of the main high street which was full of stalls serving all kinds of food and drinks. I have a weakness for "Pommes" which is chips. Somehow they always taste better at the market and they have a specialist stand here. There were a few music areas playing different types of music and also some live stages with live music.
Beer was a big theme here and there were your beer tents also you could go to the local brewery, have a beer and watch live music there too. However, there was a small wine contingent and they were drinking wine in a nice fancy part of the festival.
We proceeded further to near the fire station where there was an open space used today for fairground rides and stalls selling food and drinks. We stayed there for some time while the kids went on a few of the rides.
The weather was quite warm in the sun and we needed to stand in the shade to keep cool.
Overall it was a great family day out and we would go again next year.
