one happy laughing Buddha, in his special snow outfit ... so used to seeing this little figurine, he looked incredible covered in snow this way!
My skylight, at first awakening I wondered what the heck was going on!
Opening the skylight, it became very apparent what happened! There's been Armageddon in my sleep and the garden is covered in fallout dust! Erm no, thankfully, it's just been snowing ...
Quite a decent thick covering. I wonder how far and wide it has snowed? We find out shortly taking in a longer view
Couldn't resist rolling myself a few snowballs, love the way everything looks with great dollops of snow on top ...
Lion statue has his eyes and head almost completely covered
Looking out across the hills towards Dartmoor, I see that the snow has fallen far and wide. Wishing I had a decent 4x4 right now to get in and drive!
Then I noticed the ice cap on this bucket of standing water. I proceeded to mess about with this dangerously heavy block of ice ...
For some reason this ice cube from the top of the bucket fascinated me. It was so perfect, round, and opaque. I took a few selfies with it and tried to use it as a light filter in one shot, with interesting results! Here I'm hiding behind it ...
'Twas a grim nite across the land
The temperature humidity cloud and general conditions coerced to bring about an overnight snow fall. Rare in these parts, and only at certain times of year. This being a late one, around early Febuary. I'd just arrived back from hot and humid southeast Asia, so imagine the delight at being welcomed with such a sight early one morning.
What's that on my window?
I woke up and as usual, however I noticed there was a strange light. Normally, the daylight should be pouring in through the skylight. As light pollution was low on that street, I often left the blind up to look at the night sky before dozing off. Now I was greeted by the sight of a white blind having been pulled across the OUTSIDE of the window! What the heck is going on! .... Oh ... it's snow! Joy Joy Happy Joy :))
Of course, I headed out into the garden to play around with frozen stuff and grab some shots. More in the comments - one of my favorites, is the little Buddha covered in snow, still with a huge grin across his face!
Enjoy the shots, what a fun morning that was, a little while ago back in cold sunny England!
