Estuve visitando el Panteón Regional de mi Estado y aunque actualmente sus puertas se encuentran cerradas para el pueblo en general, quiero comentarles que en su interior reposan los cuerpos de personajes importantes para nuestra historia entre ellos: el General Rafael Urdaneta, José María Baralt y Venancio Pulgar.
Anteriormente esté lugar era una capilla de la Iglesia Católica, de ahí proviene su similitud en cuanto a la arquitectura con el resto de las iglesias, también fue parte del Patrimonio Cultural de Venezuela, sobre su gran puerta principal de madera se observa el escudo del Zulia, en el patio para honrar a uno de los personajes que se encuentra en su interior hay una estatua de Rafael Urdaneta y su esposa, en la pared que está en el mismo hay medallas con las caras de sus 11 hijos grabadas.
