A couple of weeks ago I wrote a post that I titled -The tourist's satisfaction is measured by the size of his smile- and I think I did not exaggerate with that title.
Last weekend I accompanied a CrossFit club called Team Elite in the Playón Extreme challenge which took place in the Orinoco River. Starting with the passage by boat from Puerto Blohm to La Encaramada near Ciudad Orinoco in southern Anzoátegui State, Venezuela.
Upon arrival they began their journey through all the stages of this competition that included rowing in Curiara (an artisanal fishing boat), climbing hills to the top of the village of La Encaramada and then take the road to Ciudad Orinoco and make urban jogging in its streets, they arrived at the pier and boarded the transport boats again to go to some beaches where they did physical challenges against the clock to finally make a cross-country walk to the bases of the Angostura Bridge.
As a reward, we took a boat ride under the Angostura Bridge and then returned and disembarked on Piedra del Medio Island. Finally, we arrived at La Cocuyera beach on the way back to Ciudad Bolivar.
This group of athletes had such a good time that they completely forgot to reach the first place of the competition.
Everyone, absolutely everyone, was dedicated to enjoy every part of the route, they were amazed with the natural spaces of Ciudad Orinoco.
Most of them did not know the bases of the Angostura Bridge and much less had they visited the Piedra del Medio Island. Something common in most of the Bolivarense people.
I cannot describe how happy they and their families were, because even the children had the adventure of bathing in the calm beaches of the Independencia municipality, something they would never have imagined possible.
I insist, the satisfaction of the tourist's is measured by the size of his smile.
That is why I share with you today these photos where I let them show you the happiness of touring our natural wonders of the Orinoco Narrowness.
