During my visit to the ruins of an ancient colonial refuge in Barcelona, Venezuela, I came across a fascinating place. In its early days, this site used to be a monastery inhabited by nuns, but later it was transformed into a military barracks used by the independent forces during the war against the Spanish Empire in the 19th century. Nowadays, this historic place is known as "Casa Fuerte" (Strong House). It was thrilling to explore the remnants of its past and immerse myself in the history that envelops every corner of this site.
