Todays parkrun adventure was to complete Queensland’s newest parkrun, Coolum Eco parkrun located at Coolum in the Sunshine Coast region a short one and a half hour drive north of my home at Redcliffe. I travelled with 2 other tragic parkrun friends from Redcliffe, Terry and Leanne and planned to meet the Plahn’s and Blain’s, also parkrun addicts.
Greg from Gympie joined us for enjoyable post run breakfast/coffee and naturally discussion focused on parkrun adventures and the future of the 5k app following the announcement that parkrun HQ have purchased the app and employed the creator of such in a full time role
Michael and I are now the only Queensland parkrun statesmen, having completed all 136 doable Queensland parkruns which entailed travelling thousands of kilometers from the furthest North South East and west locations
The Coolum Eco course is a mainly trail offering shade for the majority of the 5k supported by an enthusiastic event team who were super welcoming and proud to have created another parkrun
