"All great things are accomplished when people work together!""
Yesterday marks my 8th year in a row of attending the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) Business Summit 2023. This year, it was held at Marco Polo Plaza Hotel. When I was informed that this year, I'll be attending this prestigious event once again, there was a moment when it felt like a chore. For the past several years, I always look forward to attending MCCI's Business Summits as the event is usually graced by high-caliber individuals excelling in their field of expertise. But this time, it wasn't as appealing.
The past 2-3 weeks have been a constant battleground for me at work; I've had to manage the high turnover and the unfathomable anxiety that comes with it. Despite the piles of work I finished, I felt like I hadn't been doing anything that mattered. I just came to work to work. This hasn't been the case as you might have read from my previous posts; I love my job so much that I find indescribable fulfillment in each and every challenge I encounter and solve. I even crave and welcome anything that tells me I could do more and be more. I hate it when I feel I'm not growing an inch as time passes by.
But this time, I don't feel the same raging passion deep within me. I felt the flames that kept me on top all these years have died down. I've been struggling at work and stalling a few things just because I don't feel like doing them. But yesterday, I had my eureka moment!
After listening to top-notch speakers such as Ambassador Annika Thunborg, Ambassador of Sweden to the Philippines, Mr. William Tiu Lim, the founder of Mega Global Corp. (producers of Mega Sardines) and Bro. Arun Gogna, a motivational speaker, I was reminded of what I was missing in the last 2-3 weeks. I had forgotten that in my endeavors to bring my team, and our company to greater heights, I am not alone, I should not feel alone. I may not have the right manpower now and it might seem like the end of the world but there's always something I could do. My reinforcement will be joining my team next week and I'm just excited to start afresh. Until them, I'm hanging on and I'm getting ready to deliver greater things with great people. I hope I get it right this time around.
