I’ve mentioned quite a few times in my previous post how disappointing the first few weeks of summer have been. Well at least here in Cebu. If you’ve heard the news about a recent typhoon, yes a typhoon struck the eastern part of Visayas causing massive floods, flash floods, and landslides that killed families and left people wondering how could a typhoon hit us in summer.
That’s why when we had our first dry day last Wednesday, I was so happy. But I couldn’t help but worry for the long term. Will this be the new normal? Nonstop rain and typhoon after a typhoon in a summer? Will summer still be called summer after this? I don't know. And I doubt that we all go back to normal without doing anything huge to reverse the effect of climate change.
For now, I’m just happy and grateful the sun finally went out of its dungeon and showed its glorious rays to everyone at least in my hometown. Because I heard it’s still raining in the big city. Yesterday, I’ve jogged during sunset and things grow pretty when you haven’t seen them for a while. Instead of continuing my jog, I sat on the side of the running track and did yoga while watching the sun go down.
These photos were taken during one of our company summer outings a few years back and hopefully this year, we’ll have one, too. And by this wish, I'd want a real hot summer outing without worrying about rain and flood and all the inconvenience accompanied by it.
How's the weather in your area? Anything weird so far?
