On my trip through one of the most spectacular tourist destinations I have ever visited in my life, I met Chichen Itza, in the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico. A couple of weeks ago I shared with you the photos of my trip to Isla Mujeres, a beautiful place, full of friendly people. Mexicans treat tourists with great kindness, deference and cordiality. You can say that they treated us like kings.
One of the tourist places I visited was Chichen Itza, which is a set of world famous Mayan ruins that my mother had wanted to visit but did not have the opportunity and I, without intending to, went with my brother, his wife, my son who at that time was six years old, thanks to a birthday gift that my brother and his wife had given me for his birthday.
There were few photographs that I could rescue from my old PC, many were blurry and I barely saw thirteen of this trip to Chichen Itza, in the summer of 2016.
Mexico is definitely a country rich in history and traditions.
Chichen Itza was built by the God Kukulkan and its main attraction is the imposing pyramid, called the Temple of Kukulkan, 24 meters high and 350 steps with the two snake heads resting on each side of the steps and representing the God Kukulkan himself.
This pyramid is unique because it was built in such a way that during each equinox, there is a natural play of light and shadow created by the sun's rays to simulate the body of a snake descending from the temple, symbolizing the descent of the God Kukulkan to earth.
Arriving at this complex of ruins is like being transported to that past rich in history, I immediately felt invaded by that energy that I cannot describe in words. Seeing these photos, I return to these fantastic days of sun, sea, walks to places full of charm, with its people as friendly as the Mexicans are.
If remembering is living, as I am doing now, what can traveling mean, being the best thing we can experience?
I love to travel and although it has been a few years since I left my country, I have the conviction that I will return to this beautiful and emblematic place.

En mi viaje por uno de los destinos turísticos más espectaculares que he visitado en mi vida, conocí Chichén Itzá, en la península de Yucatán, México. Hace un par de semanas les compartí las fotos de mi viaje a La Isla Mujeres, precioso lugar, lleno de gente amable. Los mexicanos tratan a los turistas con mucha amabilidad, deferencia y cordialidad. Se puede decir que nos trataron como reyes.
Uno de los lugares turísticos que visité, fue Chichén Itzá, que es un conjunto de ruinas mayas mundialmente famoso y al que mi madre había querido visitar pero no se dio la oportunidad y yo, sin proponérmelo, fui con mi hermano, su esposa, mi hijo quien para ese momento tenía seis años, gracias a un regalo de cumpleaños que mi hermano y su esposa.
Fueron pocas las fotografías que pude rescatar de mi viejo PC, muchas se veían borrosas y apenas vi trece de este viaje a Chichén Itzá, en verano del año 2016.
Definitivamente México es un país rico en historia y tradiciones.
Chichén Itzá fue construido por el Dios Kukulkán y su principal atractivo es la imponente pirámide, llamada Templo de Kukulkán de 24 metros de altura y 350 escalones con las dos cabezas de serpientes que reposan a cada lado de los escalones y repesentan al mismo Dios Kukulkán.
Esta pirámide es única, porque fue construida de forma que durante cada equinoccio, se hace un espliegue de juego de luces y sombras naturales creados por los rayos de sol para simular el cuerpo de una serpiente descendiendo del templo, lo que simboliza la bajada del Dios Kukulkán a la tierra.
Llegar a este complejo de ruinas es como ser transportado a ese pasado rico en historia, de inmedito me sentí invadida por esa energía que no puedo describir con palabras. Viendo estas fotos, regreso a estos fantásticos días de sol, mar, paseos a lugares llenos de encanto, con su gente tan amable como lo son los mexicanos.
Si recordar es vivir, como lo estoy haciendo ahora, viajar qué puede significar, siendo lo mejor que podemos experimentar?
Amo viajar y aunque ya hace unos años que no salgo de mi país, tengo la convicción de que regresaré a este hermoso y emblemático lugar.
