It has been a complete surprise for me that our community dog ended up pregnant. It wasn’t supposed to happen, but it did, and with that came certain responsibilities that at first weighed heavily on my mind, but now, with time, have made me feel very anxious.
Blanca is the name of our community dog. She arrived in our neighborhood to bring us joy; everyone loves her very much, and that has been wonderful considering she’s a street dog we all adopted together.
Now, three more have joined us, her beautiful puppies, and I’m very excited knowing that my partner and I have decided to adopt one of them. The other two will be adopted by neighbors who are also animal lovers.
The best thing that could happen to them is growing up in the same neighborhood. That will allow them to stay together always, something that fills me with joy and truly moves me.
Paulo is the name of our little one. He’s blond, the one you can see in my hand in one of the photos. We have to wait a couple of months because that period of nursing is important for his development, but I visit him every day when I bring food to his mother, whom I also love very much.
It has been a very beautiful December in that sense. As for the other part… well, I’ll tell you about that later.
