Our Visit to Columbia High School STEM Class with STEAM Revolution: Exploring the Drone Industry and STEAM Learning
In 2018, STEAM Revolution had the incredible opportunity to visit Columbia High School STEM class and speak with AP students about the exciting world of STEAM learning. As a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting STEAM education, we were particularly interested in exploring the growing drone industry and the potential careers that it offered.
During our visit, we had the pleasure of discussing the potential of drones and their various applications in different fields. We highlighted the importance of incorporating science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics into the curriculum to prepare students for the jobs of the future. We also discussed the career opportunities in the drone industry, such as drone pilots, engineers, data analysts, and more.
To bring the discussion to life, we took the students outside to fly a drone with a professional pilot. It was an exciting experience for everyone involved as we watched the drone take flight and capture stunning aerial footage. The students were fascinated by the technology and the pilot's expertise, and many expressed an interest in pursuing careers in the drone industry.
Now, as we look back on that day, we can see how drones have become even more prevalent in our society, with the help of AI. Companies are using drones for everything from delivering packages to conducting search and rescue missions. The drone industry is expected to create countless new jobs in the coming years, making it a great career choice for students interested in STEAM fields.
