A yearly fun fair every year
In my home town, there was a big fun fair every year so as a child I didn't know any better than having more than a week of fun at the fun fair. I even remember how the prices went up every year but also how I got my "fun fair allowance" from my grandparents every time the fair was about to start. I have loads of memories from all these years and I think in all the years I lived in my birth country, I have only missed 1 year that I haven't visited the fair at least once. Even though I started to dislike the many lights and sounds and people the last years I lived there, I got too sensitive for them so it seems, or should I say, just more aware of my own sensitivity and the aftermath of being in such an environment for several hours. Who knows, either way, I spent many many hours in my life there. Unlike our daughter, who didn't know the concept of a fun fair until some weeks ago!
We were going to grab some food
And immediately when we started walking downhill, we saw the empty field downhill was packed with trucks and food trucks etc. We also noticed the attractions that were already (almost) done, it didn't look like much yet at this time though, as it seems they were not going to open yet that evening. We sat at the restaurant halfway downhill and our daughter enjoyed the view of the "soon to be" fun fair which was totally new to her young life. We tried to explain what was going to be there when they were done building. After the tapas, we walked downhill to check the size of this fair and we were pleasantly surprised! It was quite big! Actually bigger than the average fun fair you find in our home country in these tiny villages if they have a fun fair, lol. So here we were just a few weeks being residents in this new town in a new country and there we had this first cool summer event right beneath our doorstep!
Enjoyed the fair every day
So annoying, but I had no clue when it was going to start and end. Thankfully, I could ask the accountant as we had a meeting that evening, and he said it would last until Sunday and start that evening. We have been there every day for 4 days in a row and our daughter really loved it. There was plenty to do for kids her age as well as a few faster attractions for the bigger kids, which we avoided ourselves. She was allowed to pick 3 or 4 things every day and we ate cotton candy as well. As you can see in the images, it was HUGE!
Now let's hope the next summer event will be just as awesome!
