The weather finally changed!
Although I read about this last week already, that the weather was about to change and a huge temperature drop would be happening soon, I did not really have the feeling the weather was that much cooler the past days. Whenever I opened the windows in the morning, within the hour I had to close them again as the heat was present inside. I did notice a few evenings that the trees were moving so there was a bit of wind, it made me hopeful! Today was the first evening in a few days that we actually went out for a good round of grocery shopping as well as getting some handy stuff from another store.
Instant happiness!
We walked outside the front door of the building and we felt an instant breeze, I'd like to refer to it as the sweet ocean breeze that met us when we just landed in Spain and were staying very close to the sea for a few weeks. I absolutely love this breeze. The sun was still hot even at 7PM tonight, but this wind made it so much more enjoyable. I really felt instant happiness because of the weather change. I had enough of the heat wave as well as feeling wrecked for every walk downhill to get groceries, I longed for the moment that my only struggle uphill would be the actually uphill walking, not the heat knocking me off my feet while trying to do that. Let me tell you that walking uphill to our home in 40 degrees, even when the sun is set, is horrible with the high humidity. Now that this changed, I feel really motivated to go out for walks again in the morning as well as in the evening!
We loaded up water
For the first time since we moved in here, 7 weeks ago, we had to load up our bottled water again! I was curious how long these trips to LIDL with a van loaded up with trays of waters would last, the answer is more or less 7 weeks. I think we have 2 trays with 6 bottles left, but it may also be just one. It's fine, tomorrow we will receive another shopping card filled with bottles. It won't last this many weeks, but at least they are delivering it at our home without us having to carry it, damn, those were workouts let me tell you that!
When we went back uphill
Today was the very first time that I wasn't overheated and could actually enjoy the walk a bit. My boyfriend wanted to sit down for a drink but I don't really fancy that one place that we pass when coming from this supermarket so instead we sat down at another place to eat an ice cream. Our daughter had chocolate 70.3% while we had the same chocolate with pistachio ice cream. Gosh, the chocolate was great, but I personally thought the pistachio was a bit chewy of structure. The taste was great though, especially in combination with the chocolate.
We checked out a school
Although I thought I had it all figured out regarding which school options my daughter has until I suddenly noticed I overlooked one school. And when I checked the route and distance, I was so happy. Just 5 minutes walk and the route is much safer and less up and downhill than the other two. We walked there after we had ice cream, hoping I'd see some sort of contact note because I can't find it anywhere on their (shitty) website lol. That's nothing weird here though, many websites seem to be outdated as well as hard to navigate. The pictures seemed like a real public school, just like the one in Hungary (only that was kindergarten) but I saw many creative pictures so I instantly had a great feeling. I bet this is going to be the one. Tomorrow I will dig another time into the website to find the contact detail, or I will just walk over there in the afternoon to see if there's someone there. Exciting times ahead now that the last part of August has started. It also means we will both have less distraction during the day when we're working, so to be honest, I'm looking forward to the kick-off of the schoolyear.
