Did you do some Easter egg hunting this year?
We made a bit of a tradition to hide a bag of chocolate Easter eggs as well as the Easter bunny inside every year. We have been lacking a garden to do so, therefore we try to make it fun doing it inside instead. Of course, the little kid is growing fast and she finds them much faster than she did the previous year.
We almost forgot to hide them this Saturday as we were quite tired from enjoying some time at the local fair including an Encanto parade and musical. We were surprised at how good the weather was even until 8 PM when we were heading home. Thanks to the organization that arranges school trips for the kids, we had a folder where they mentioned all these activities and there were 3 coupons included for 1 euro discount per activity. At first, we thought this was for the musical and dance activities until I was checking the route and actually read the tiny letters about all activities being free of charge for the public.
Then I noticed the part where it mentioned a fair was there, suddenly we understood how this town was so filled with people the whole week whenever we passed through it and saw people and police everywhere. As we found out so late, we decided to spend both weekend afternoons/evenings there to celebrate the end of the Easter holidays, or as they call it here "Semana Santa" (Holy week).
We swapped the three coupons for tickets that could be used everywhere at the fair and we were a bit unlucky that there was a 1,5 hour waiting time for two of the things she wanted to do. To avoid this from happening again today, we went an hour earlier and she was actually the second one in the row waiting, so today we could make up for all the missed attractions yesterday.
We gave her 5 rides today as it's cheap as can be anyway, just 10 euros and you're set for 5 rides in whatever attraction you want.
It was breathtaking to see the castle area being turned into a fair and see the sun and palm trees around us while being at the fair. I think I got a bit of sunburn on top of the fun though because I wanted to record the flamenco dance shows and was sitting in the direct sun. Just 21 degrees in the direct sun with the ocean breeze usually means that it feels like 26 degrees and I will notice I got burned later at home, lol.
It was a good fun weekend together with the family though and I will make sure to share some of our craft projects tomorrow! Now I have to head to bed quite early to make sure the kid lands in school on time. I promised my boyfriend I'd take the morning shift to bring her as he has not been able to sleep in all week, while I have.
Have a good evening!
