Day 24 - Paint
I got inspired by the "30 day not-so ordinary ordinary items challenge" but as I love giving things a personal twist, I decided to change the format a bit for myself so it suits me better. I've adjusted it to the 30 pictures - 30 stories challenge. But some days you will see that I also use not-so ordinary ordinary objects.
Feel free to join the challenge at any time if you like.
Publish one picture a day during 30 days and write a story about that picture. This can be anything, any object in the home, a person, scenery or a pet. I'm going to share a diversity of pictures and challenge myself to step outside of the box.
Although I have to admit that I have been lacking at being creative outside of online designing some Bonfire t-shirts, you can read more about that new side hustle in the making here. But in terms of drawing or painting, I have been low on the inspiration side. To disappointment of my daughter as she asks me to draw something for her every day so she can color it the next day, she prefers me drawing something over a coloring plate online. Which is a compliment but without inspiration, it's a big task, lol.
As tomorrow is Valentines day, I was aiming to do some painting today but I yet have to think about what I will paint, so don't pin me down to it just yet as the painting may show up weeks from now instead. That's also because I planned ahead some solid days of content for this 30stories series, btw.
Back to the paint, once I received the table easel from Lidl as you can see in the picture, I was happy to find quite a big storage inside of it, I used to leave the tubes of paint in there alongside with the brushes and some other things. That is until I started buying different types of paint not long after and it was way too much to store in that box. This was a great time to buy some storage boxes and so I did. I didn't expect it to be a full storage box of paint but it is.
In our collection we have the tubes of acrylic paint that came with an old set I bought for my daughter. I'm always first checking if these have the right colors before I check the other tubes you see in the box at the front. These have more shades in colors and came with the easel. Then we have the regular few tints of black, white, yellow red and blue on the top left of the picture as well as a few smaller extra white and black that came with another set. The smaller boxes in the back are metallic colors which I bought after I had a few cool drawings with metallic markers done. Let's not forget the neon color on the top right and the silver, gold and copper ones in the left. Of course, we also have gesso and varnish.
I have plenty of ideas what to create with this paint but yet have to actually do it. If I don't get inspired to create a valentines painting today, I will probably get to my black canvas which I prepped for a buddha image with metallic paint. I hope soon there's some actual creative painting from my hand again as I know it also inspires my daughter and that's awesome to see.
Do you ever paint at home? What type of paint do you love using most?
