Hi Everyone,
Bowral, one of the biggest towns in the Southern Highlands, has a long main strip where all the action happens over the weekend. Locals will be out and about catching up with friends, getting their weekly needs or tourists like us will visit all the cute stores along the strip. Not to mention go through some of the op shops as you never know, you might find something cool in these shops.
When we were there a fortnight ago, I didn't expect to see so many people out in the country town. There were lots of cars, people trying to line up for cafes and bakeries and parking was a little challenging. Even filling up our car took a while as there were a few cars lined up. It felt more lively and busy than Sydney CBD which was unexpected. What I know of Borwal are their antique/op shops, vintage homeware and local food. We decided to not go to the famous Bradman Museum (famous cricket) as I know our kids will be super bored. They will probably appreciate it a little more when they are older or if they are into cricket. Hubby was into cricket but he wasn't keen to take the boys there and rather check out the local cafes there instead.
If you are in Bowral for a visit, make sure to take some time out and try some cafes or line up for bakery food. As mentioned in my previous blog, we did go to Dirty Jane and hiking during our visit so there are plenty of things to do for the family of all ages.
