National Monument or Monas is a landmark of Jakarta. The large space of the history museum of the national struggle with an area of 80 x 80 meters can accommodate about 500 visitors. This large marble-covered room has 48 dioramas on all four sides and 3 dioramas in the middle, bringing a total of 51 dioramas.
This diorama displays the history of Indonesia from pre-historic times to the New Order era. This diorama starts from the northeast corner and moves clockwise to trace the history of Indonesia; starting from prehistoric times, ancient empires such as Srivijaya and Majapahit, followed by the European colonial period which was followed by the resistance of pre-independence national heroes against the VOC and the Dutch East Indies government.
The diorama continued until the Indonesian national movement in the early 20th century, the Japanese occupation, the war for independence and the revolution, until the New Order era under Suharto.
