Did you know that the fashion industry contributes to 10% total carbon emission on the planet? And a total of 85% of clothes manufactured either ends in landfills or is burned every year. Can you imagine how ironic the clothes that makes us look good at the same time makes the earth go bad.
One way of helping is by up-cycling clothes. Learn to sew and create new outfits from your existing wardrobe. But since I don't have a talent for sewing I go to my second solution -** Thrift Shopping**.
I've always been a fan of thrift shops, not only because I can buy more by spending less it's also because I know that in a way or another I'm helping the environment. Plus, there is a lot of good finds there, even branded and original items. Just invest some time and a whole lot of patience plus practice your haggle skills - you will sure find some treasure items for a very low price.
How about you? What's your favorite thrift find? Any other tips on how we can help the environment but still look chic and classy?
Check out your local thrift shop today and see how far a dollar can take you.
