Once my wife and I were passing through one amazing city on the seashore with a centuries-old history where cultures from all over the world intertwined and created some unimaginable mixture of mood that cannot leave anyone indifferent and we decided to stay in Odessa for a few days.
We wanted to get the maximum experience and set ourselves the task of finding an apartment in the historic district of the city where life is in full swing.
But even in such a boiling environment you can feel yourself in a cozy atmosphere because what happens on the street does not concern small shady courtyards that hide in the depths of the quarters like a Chinese puzzle.
The silence of these courtyards is a loud word there is a life of its own isolated from the outside world full of passions fun and other emotions.
Creaking floors and flights of stairs the sounds of neighbors’ steps the sounds of their life in neighboring apartments in theory can cause some discomfort but the reason for which this undertaking was carried out was more important and the next day we stopped hearing what we didn’t want hear we enjoyed the comfort of a small courtyard and the sharp contrast beyond.
When I thought about what I want to cook in my molecular kitchen the idea came up quite easily I wanted to create from something small such as the entrance to the Odessa courtyard something limitless something that goes beyond understanding until you get there and appreciate it.
This was the idea of creating a huge world in a small courtyard for which I used several layers of the same photograph.
