Wonderful smelling wisps crest the air and draw me near to the small shop, the clanking sound, the sweet smell in the air. Agar wood incense factory made right here, locally.
I left the heavy hard pounding sounds of the tone bowls and found this lovely spot to stop and chat and wait a moment to see how incense is made and how happy the people are to share what they make.
This machine makes incense sticks. The top hopper is loaded with ground agar wood and the side is loaded with sticks dipped in red, glue or...?
The small pounding this machine makes as it spits out sticks filled with the sweet smell. This machine seems to jam a lot as there is constantly someone fiddling with the machine and taking out broken sticks that did not quite get covered in the best way...or broken all together.
Bungle of stick...do you know the definition of a bundle of sticks....look it up, it might surprise you.
- did you notice the dog paws under this machine?
Here are some sticks after they are spit out of the machine.
Drying racks for all the products created here.
Piles and piles of tower Agar wood incense. Now here is something that i can puck up and bring with me. Not too much weight and worth that space it takes to make any space smell great. I suppose these are for prayer and sacrifice and have a lot more to them then just making a space small nice. Perhaps you can fill me in on what else incense can be sue for.
Contrast of colour is quite something.
Very large sticks that can be purchased are here drying on the racks.
The colour difference must mean or have something to do with grade or smell or material used...or perhaps it is amount of drying.
Unique conical shape. I decided to go with the small towers of the Agar wood variety. They had a small hard case that had enough to share with friends and be small enough to carry with ease.
Here are what looks like moulds. They done seems to be used any more and are more of a display unit that is in the shop.
Defiantly worth checking out this are. There is so much history and culture that one must immerse oneself into the way of life and see through another lenses of how life can be live.
Thanks for stopping in to have a look. Moving on in a few more days.
