After such a wonderful ride up this twisted long road with a beauty view below and all around. I made my way back to the waterfalls along a river that has been dammed up to create pools at many spots along the river.
This is the start in the rise of the ride to get to the Elephant Springs which is located in the jungle of Bach Ma National Park. Entrance is free but you may have to pay some locals to make sure your bike does not get stolen. Not that this is likely but a few Dong goes a long way here.
A few shots of the area blow as this is quite a sight in these parts.
Must take some photos of the flowers along the way with a stunning back drop.
Now to the slippery rocks of this post.
Here is a giraffe that has been frozen in time and made into a concrete...I mean stone statue.
It is almost as though these statues were meant to be in the spots they now occupy. Perhaps this was more then just a funny place to make animal statues.
This photo was taken close to the top of the river flow. Looking down over the area this gives a good vantage point as to where one could go to find a spot to relax and swim. Not a busy day today which is nice to have some space to myself.
The huts and nooks that have been constructed are a nice way to spend the day off in the shade under the grass mate roofs of this place.
The long grass huts with hammocks strung between the posts. Enough sapce for a comunity to sleep here.
Lets have a look around. Here are some pictures from the area.
Laying under the grass mate roof slowly swinging, listening to kids play, hearing the wind blow the water trickle and the sound of silence creep into my space...I take a nap.
a Panoramic of the area.
The setting sun as I ride back to the hotel for the night.
These pictures were taken at the Elephant Springs (Suoi Voi) between Da Nang and Hue, by the river edge. This spot is along the Hai Van pass which is lovely drive I go to do three times and worth the trip each time. It is worth noteing that going to elephant springs is a perfect place to go on a hot day as the water is a bit cooler giver it is feed from higher. Probably a place that get quite packed in summer time so be prepared for this place to be packed.
- Thanks for having a look at a stop along the ride on a road that has a reputation for being a fun road to ride. After a good ride up, a swim, soak, nap, swim and lunch, it was time to head back down and get another ride down the Hi Van pass again. Let me know if you have been here or ridden this road.
Check out Pinmapple for my map of places that I have been and will go back to in time.
