This is my entry to the Concurso de microrrelatos 7ma edición by @HiveMexico.
Mientras caminaba no pude evitar detenerme a observar este hermoso paisaje iluminado con un sol radiante. Tomé asiento en las rocas, mientras mi mirada se perdía en la inmensidad del mar. La tranquilidad del ambiente y el sonido del agua me condujeron a un estado de paz que hacía tiempo no encontraba entre el ruido de mis pensamientos.
Miré hacia mi lado derecho y observé al grupo de jóvenes que se encontraban allí, cada uno sumergido en su teléfono; y pensé en cómo la tecnología nos ha dado y quitado tanto al mismo tiempo, en cómo esta era tecnológica nos acerca más a quienes tenemos lejos y nos aleja de quienes tenemos cerca.
Pensaba en lo complejo y contradictorio que somos los seres humanos, siempre deseando y anhelando más lo que no tenemos, mientras olvidamos mirar nuestro alrededor, a nuestro entorno, para valorar lo que poseemos.
As I walked I could not help but stop to observe this beautiful landscape illuminated by a radiant sun. I took a seat on the rocks, while my gaze was lost in the immensity of the sea. The tranquility of the environment and the sound of the water led me to a state of peace that I had not found for a long time amidst the noise of my thoughts.
I looked to my right side and watched the group of young people standing there, each one immersed in his phone; and I thought about how technology has given us and taken away so much at the same time, how this technological era brings us closer to those we have far away and distances us from those we have close to us.
I thought about how complex and contradictory we human beings are, always desiring and longing more for what we don't have, while forgetting to look around us, to our surroundings, to value what we do have.
