I am glad to announce that the book chosen for the next Bookclub meeting at on April 9th is "A Short Story of the Anti-Christ" by Vladimir Sergeyevich Solovyov. The book was proposed by
.
The book comes as a chapter of "War, Progress, and the End of History", but is available as a stand-alone book in Polish, although this seems not to be the case for English translations. Besides, the whole book (that is available on public domain) is less than 200 pages long, thus I encourage you to read the other chapters if you have at hand an unabridged version of the book.
The other books that were proposed were:
- Solaris by Stanisław Lem; proposed by
- Apology of Socrates by Plato; proposed by
- Małgorzata córka Łazarza by Vladislav Vančura; proposed by
- Secrets by David Icke; proposed by
(Which, surprisingly, was not supported by
, who didn't take part in the decision process this time around)
Solaris, which received one preference by , was outclassed by the voting powers of
. I remind you that RCR voting powers are taken into consideration only when books end up receiving the same number of preferences. Nothing stops you from suggesting the same book again (or to add a preference vote for your own proposal).
I thank all of you for your very active participation in the bookclub activities!
