Se dice que este tema musical memorable fue compuesto en 1967. El primero en crear la letra fue el artista de origen francés e italiano, Claude François, quien escribió la canción en un mantel de papel, después de vivir una difícil ruptura amorosa. “À ma manière” tenía los arreglos musicales de Gilles Thibaut.
Sin embargo, el cantautor Paul Anka compró los derechos de la melodía, la transformó en un tema en inglés y se inspiró en la vida del cantante estadounidese Frank Sinatra; de hecho fue este reconocido artista quien interpretó “My Way”, pero gracias a la voz de "El Rey" Elvis Presley, la canción se volvió un hit internacional.
