I hate travelling, or more specifically I hate travelling to travel, ie the route to get to my destination. A few days ago I started my Road to Graz. Took me 10 hours from leaving home to arriving at my Airbnb in Slovenia. And my flight time was only 2 hours from London to Ljubljana! So much time is wasted in life just waiting around.
I spent the last few days first in Ljubljana and then in Bled. It's such a pretty place at Bled. I did a hike up the mountain to see the lake at high above. It was a strenuous hike but the view was so worth it. I will be posting about that, probably next week as I will be quite busy these few days coming at the Hive Creators Day meetup up in Graz. That's the main purpose of this trip.
This morning I've spent another 45 minutes waiting at the station for my train to start my 4 hour journey to Graz.
It's a very small station and very quiet in the morning, a bit surprising given it's a public holiday today and Bled is such a popular tourist destination. I killed my time by taking random photos at the station, which to be honest, didn't take long. The most interesting thing I found at the station was this vending machine. Normally vending machines sells snacks and crappy stuff. This one looked like it sold gourmet food like jars of pickled artichokes and asparagus, and jam. Kinda odd if you ask me, but then maybe its a very Slovenian thing
Finally my train has arrived, and I'm on my first leg of three leg journey, a 50 minute train ride across the Slovenia and Austrian border to Villach.
From here I change for a 30 minute train ride to Klagenfurt. And for my final journey, it's a two hour bus ride to Graz. If all goes well, I should arrive in time for the kickoff in the afternoon to see everyone.
Talking of trains and travel, do you like this? 😄
I will be talking about my latest project at Graz. We've come a long way since we started nearly three months ago and I want to keep the momentum going by giving it more exposure and get it on the right direction I want it to go.
See you all soon!
