Mi ciudad , hermosa feliz aniversario 320 años , es mi segundo post en Hive de maracay , pues los que vivimos acá o los que han tenido la oportunidad de visitarla , sabrán , que es tranquila y pintoresca . Pues siempre he dicho , que estamos en la mejor ubicación , teniendo a nuestro alrededor , muchas vías a lugares increíbles , que hacen nuestra ciudad un lugar ideal para vivir , si lo tuyo es espacios tranquilos , un clima tropical , estas en la ciudad soñada .
MARACAY

Pero en la historia , el significado del nombre maracay o maracaya , significa Felino o cunaguaro como se le conoce , en lengua caribe y que en esta zona habitada por una población de indígenas . Cómo se formó este espacio tan importante de venezuela , donde era monte y culebra , dicho por los citadinos , pero en realidad , no siempre fue así . Durante la presidencia del general Juan Vicente Gómez se evidenció una transformación debido a la influencia del general , quien por intereses económicos y políticos , promovió una serie de transformaciones , en el urbanismo civil y militar para convertirla en una ciudad moderna , para la época , haciendo a maracay la cuna de aviación y lugar de residencia permanente del presidente Gomez .
Maracay , estuvo ligada antes como villa de Francisco De Miranda en el imperio español en 1812 , volviéndose capital en 1814 por Simón Bolívar . Pero con la disolución de la Gran Estado Miranda , maracay , dejó de ser capital y Gómez se muda en 1909 , para volver a maracay zona militar . Maracay tuvo muchos cambios políticos , y fue decretada capital del estado aragua 12 de marzo de 1917 , que fue su cambio definitivo . En su escudo tiene las 3 fechas conmemorativas de su cambios como capital y ciudad , dejando el 5 de marzo como aniversario . Maracay fue importante en la independencia de venezuela y sus batallas , refugio y cedé de concentración , cuidada y amada por bolívar , miranda , gomez y caciques , fue parte importante de la evolución socioeconómica y agricultura , con la mayor exportación de añil , volviéndose la ciudad jardín , nombre puesto por Alexander Von Humboldt , geógrafo naturalista , encantado con la vegetación y samanes . El crecimiento económico se establece en la presidencia de Gómez , creando las vías para la exportación , y así nace la vía de la carretera de ocumare de la costa el 9 de mayo 1916 , así maracay pasa hacer una de las ciudades más importantes de venezuela con un puerto propio , volviéndose la suplente de la victoria , el 21 de junio 1916 , siendo la capital del estado aragua .
La infraestructura de maracay se debe al cariño que el presidente Gómez creó para la ciudad modelo , su mando duró hasta 1935 , pero sin antes ordenar el Teatro de la ópera de maracay , terminada en 1973 , hizo la plaza bolívar la más grande de latinoamérica con estilo parisino , la plaza de toros , el arco del triunfo y el zoológico, siempre con la visión de una ciudad jardín , lleno de increíbles jardines . Que hoy en día , se mantiene como tesoros de la ciudad . El gran toro de las delicias , es un regalo de su nieto al presidente Gómez , cuando estaba en sus últimos días , una referencia muy maracayera actualmente .
