It might sound like a joke, but ever since we bought the UPS, the power hasn't gone out—we've only had a few dips during the day. It sounds weird, but it frustrates me a little that I can't treat myself to a UPS while the power is actually out, haha. But that doesn’t mean the country has improved or that the power will never go out again. In fact, we finally had a power outage today. The thing is, it lasted only a short time, but even so, it was really strange that everything went dark except for the computer—it was truly a futuristic experience for me, haha.
Honestly, I don't know what all that stuff on the screen means, haha. I haven't figured it out yet; my husband's the one who knows. but I guess the bars at the bottom show the battery level. As soon as the power goes out, it automatically drops to 75%, although the power wasn’t out for very long (about 15 minutes or so). We wanted to keep the computer on to see how long it would take to shut down, and for at least those 15 minutes, everything was normal and the battery level didn’t drop—I was pretty impressed.
The truth is, it's way more than I was hoping for. Honestly, I would have been happy with just 10 minutes so I could shut everything down safely and make sure the computer doesn't get damaged or my work—or my husband's—gets messed up, haha, so I'm pretty satisfied.
I also had to do something that doesn’t look great aesthetically, but it was the most practical way to connect the mini UPS to my router. I tried many different ways to make enough space for everything, but it was impossible, so I decided to mount them on the wall. It was easy to mount the router because I just used nails (it has a slot on the bottom to fit into), so it fits perfectly, but the mini UPS was completely flat, and I had to get creative to mount it on the wall since the mini UPS cable is very short and both devices have to be close together.
Well, I decided to make a really makeshift holder using a clothes hanger and securing it with hair ties. I couldn’t take any photos of how I did it since I did it by hand—my hands were a mess, and I ruined three clothes hangers. It was terrible… It’s been up on the wall for a week now and hasn’t fallen down, so luckily it turned out pretty well.
