Red Soul

Hace mucho que no pintaba en digital, he tenido muy poco tiempo realmente y como he mencionado antes tambien he desarrollado una especie de aversión a la pantalla de la computadora, pero hoy en la mañana decidí intentarlo nuevamente y fluyo bastante bien… De hecho volví con un reto que para mi era bastante difícil y es que no es facil pensar en una combinación de colores diferentes, realmente no recuerdo si en el pasado ya he hecho un dibujo combinando estos dos tonos rojo y azul. Aunque es una combinación que en la vida diaria no me gustaría quise probarla en un dibujo y me encanto.

It’s been a long time since I last did any digital art; I’ve really had very little time, and as I mentioned before, I’ve also developed a sort of aversion to the computer screen, but this morning I decided to give it another try, and it’s going pretty smoothly… In fact, I came back with a challenge that was pretty difficult for me, because it’s not easy to come up with a combination of different colors. I don’t really remember if I’ve ever done a drawing combining these two shades of red and blue before. Although it’s a combination I wouldn’t normally choose in everyday life, I wanted to try it in a drawing, and I loved it.

Realicé el boceto y aunque tenia miedo de agregar una mano, lo hice jaja. Tenia tiempo sin pintar manos y no son la gran cosa pero siempre las manos son un reto en todas sus formas, luego comencé a pintar con la paleta de color que elegí que en este caso en su mayoría eran azules pálidos / oscuros/ desaturados y rojo un poco mas brillante en todo el centro del rostro. En una nueva capa agregue mas colores hasta darle forma a toda la piel y rostro, luego mezcle los colores dejando una piel visiblemente mas limpia pero al mismo tiempo dejando algo de textura.

I did the sketch, and even though I was afraid to add a hand, I went ahead and did it, haha. It had been a while since I’d painted hands, and they’re not that great, but hands are always a challenge in every way. Then I started painting with the color palette I’d chosen, which in this case consisted mostly of pale, dark, and desaturated blues, with a slightly brighter red right in the center of the face. On a new layer, I added more colors to shape the skin and face, then blended the colors to create a visibly cleaner complexion while still retaining some texture.
