Hey! I don't know what's going on, but I wrote this post yesterday, scheduled it to go live, and today I realized it didn't get posted—it wasn't even saved—so I have to tell you the whole story all over again from scratch, haha. On Saturday, we wrapped up a long treatment that caused us quite a few headaches and cost us a fortune; we finally finished the dental treatment—or at least the most “serious” issues that needed addressing.
They treated the last two cavities he had and also gave him a cleaning; everything went very quickly and smoothly. My son is becoming less and less afraid of the dentist and gets along quite well with his dentist now. This latest treatment was way too expensive for us—$120 in less than an hour (goodbye, spring break). I was literally left penniless after this expense, but at least we’re done with all this stress for now.
Obviously, we need to prepare for other possibilities, since the doctor herself explained to us that his cavities aren’t even caused by poor hygiene, but by having his mouth open almost all day. In fact, he brushes his teeth on his own, and then I brush them again to make sure they’re perfectly clean, but even so, cavities keep appearing.
It's been really difficult dealing with this, especially the high cost; the whole country is extremely expensive, and the healthcare sector is no exception. Anyway, that day after leaving there, we walked around for a while and went to a playground inside a store. He asked to go there since he'd already been there with his grandfather. He had fun with the girl who looks after the children, painting and playing.
