Un nuevo día para activar la creatividad y hacer algo muy lindo y lucir un diseño original. Así que en esta oportunidad les traje un tutorial para elaborar un collar con conchitas del fruto del árbol de caoba, que conseguí en los jardines, porque es grandioso cuando transformamos las cosas que parecían tener un final, para crear algo diferente.

So this time I brought you a tutorial to make a necklace with shells from the fruit of the mahogany tree, which I got in the gardens, because it's great when we transform things that seemed to have an end, to create something different.
El fruto del árbol de caoba es como un bulbo que consta de 2 capas que recubren las semillas, la primera es una gruesa y la segunda es más delgada que al momento de esparcir las semillas, ellas se abren como una flor.
The fruit of the mahogany tree is like a bulb that consists of 2 layers that cover the seeds, the first one is thick and the second one is thinner and when the seeds are spread, they open like a flower.
Materiales | Materials
- Concha delgada del fruto de arbol de caoba.
- Pintura acrílica (colores variados).
- Palillo.
- Hilo encerado.
- Tijera.
- Cordón.
- Lija.
- Thin shell of the fruit of the mahogany tree.
- Acrylic paint (assorted colors).
- Toothpick.
- Waxed thread.
- Scissors.
- String.
- Sandpaper.
Proceso | Process
Para iniciar, con una lija fina eliminé la porosidad del lado cóncavo hacia afuera de 2 conchas.
To begin with, I removed the porosity from the concave side out of 2 shells with fine sandpaper.
Luego con el dedo pinté un circulo en el centro de la pieza.
Then with my finger I painted a circle in the center of the piece.
Con la ayuda de un palillo picado, para tener una pinta fina y otra más ancha, fui marcando un patrón de puntos al rededor del circulo central. Puede apreciar la secuencia de color y tamaño utilizado a través de las imágenes.
With the help of a chopped toothpick, in order to have a thin and a wider pint, I was marking a pattern of dots around the central circle. You can appreciate the sequence of color and size used through the images.

Al tener listos los diges empecé a ensamblar del collar. Entre el rizo de la primera concha inserté un cordón, y realicé un nudo triple en el extremo de la concha, acompañándole con una semilla redonda para decorar el centro del collar.
Once the diges were ready, I began to assemble the necklace. Between the curl of the first shell I inserted a cord, and made a triple knot at the end of the shell, accompanying it with a round seed to decorate the center of the necklace.
Seguidamente amarré dos grupos de hilo amarillo y repetí el procedimiento anterior, semilla-nudo-concha pintada.
Then I tied two groups of yellow thread and repeated the previous procedure, seed-nut-painted shell.
Para terminar la elaboración del collar le hice un tejido pequeño, que abrazó los dos extremos del cordón, y así tuviese un cierre corredizo para adaptar el collar a tu gusto, es decir, para usar largo o corto.
To finish the elaboration of the necklace I made a small weave, which embraced the two ends of the cord, and thus had a sliding clasp to adapt the necklace to your taste, that is to say, to use long or short.
