The road from Cuzco to Urubamba is an attraction in itself, a historically important route but also with a deeply beautiful landscape, between the valleys of the highlands and the snow-capped peaks that cross it.
The coloration of the carved mountains caught my attention, since those ocher colors are so common to us in the tropics, not even in the heights of the Venezuelan Andean region, I suppose it will have to do with the composition of the earth and its nutrients , and that probably the crops, with the exception of the potato, the undisputed queen of Andean gastronomy, will also be somewhat different.
Another case that seemed interesting to me was seeing so many constructions with blocks of clay (adobe) of the same color, this construction technique is one of my favorites, and it has a wide variety of advantages because it is an ecological technique that makes good use of the resources of the environment. I was pleasantly surprised to see it so widespread in the Peruvian highlands, with an interesting mixture of architectural styles.
Unlike the previous posts, these photos were taken with a Canon T3i camera, so the photos have a little better definition than the old and faithful Sony H7 compact camera. I managed to save some since I was traveling by public transport and I could only frame that special memory from those limitations.

La carretera de Cuzco a Urubamba es una atracción en sí misma, una ruta históricamente importante pero además con paisaje profundamente hermoso, entre los valles del altiplano y las cumbres nevadas que lo atraviesan.
Me llamo la atención la coloración de las montañas labradas, ya que esos colores ocres nos son tan comunes en el trópico, ni siquiera en las alturas de la región andina venezolana, supongo que tendrá que ver con la propia composición de la tierra y sus nutrientes, y que probablemente los cultivos, a excepción de la papa, reina indiscutible de la gastronomía andina, también serán algo distintos.
Otra caso que me pareció interesante fue ver tantas construcciones con bloques de barro (adobe) de la misma coloración, esta técnica constructiva es de mis favoritas, y tiene una amplia variedad de ventajas por ser una técnica ecológica que aprovecha muy bien los recursos del entorno, me sorprendió gratamente verla tan extendida en el altiplano peruano, con una interesante mixtura de estilos arquitectónicos.
A diferencia de los post anteriores, estas fotografías las tomé con una cámara Canon T3i, por lo cual las fotos tienen un poco de mejor definición que la vieja y fiel cámara compacta Sony H7. logre salvar algunas ya que viajaba en transporte público y solo pude encuadrar desde esas limitaciones ese especial recuerdo.
