Scientists have recently found out an unusual thing in the pacific where the plastics floating in the water or dumped into the ocean floor is floating in the pacific ocean and slowly becoming a home for many species. Some people have taken initiatives to clean the oceans of these plastics, and which is when they found out that it is already home to about 46 different species of the ocean. Some of those species are from the coral reefs from a very long distance, and some of them are home to species in the regular ocean.
It has become a combination of multiple species, and some aquatic species were also found to carry eggs in them, which also means that they did not hang on to the plastics just like that, but they consider them as their home for breeding and shelter. This is a new form of floating homes happening in the Pacific Ocean. Unfortunately, we currently don't have more information about this, but folks trying to clean the ocean have found this, and the scientists have been doing research on them and have found out that the species are a combination of coastal and ocean species. They somehow take this opportunity to coexist.
What surprises the scientists is that this is not a very usual combination because the Coral species need some specific conditions and that's why they survive in the coastal region but this plastic garbage materials probably tied to a rope or other materials to hang on is currently very far away from the coastal region in the middle of the ocean and somehow the coral species are also able to survive despite the different living condition.
Is the ocean trying to heal, or is this a new transformation?
This is the biggest puzzle we have. It is hard to understand how nature works. Human pollution has contaminated the water with plastics, but nature has found an opportunity there and can make use of the opportunity to survive and expand. They even say that some species of coral that struggle to survive in the coastal region find it very suitable to survive in these giant plastic balls what these specialists call their home.
Now it is still unclear whether to remove the plastics from the ocean or let nature take care of it and make use of it as its ocean to naturally adapt. But one fact is very true that some big ocean beings are finding it very hard to coexist with plastic waste roaming in the water. They get their body parts stuck in that. More research on this will reveal new information and give us a path forward in the initiatives to clean the water bodies.
