Vasilievsky island

There is a huge island in the Neva Delta, which occupies a whole area of St. Petersburg. This is Vasilievsky island. We have already visited its tip with the name Strelka Vasilievsky Island.. And now let's go a little deeper into it. Today is Wednesday and it's time to take a walk. But we will not go too far in time to return to the bridges and see how they get divorced.

В дельте Невы есть огромный остров, который занимает целый район Санкт-Петербурга. Это Васильевский остров. Мы уже посетили его кончик с названием Стрелка Васильевского острова. А теперь немного углубимся в него. Сегодня среда и самое время прогуляться. Но мы не будем заходить слишком далеко, чтобы успеть вернуться к мостам и посмотреть, как они разводятся.

First, let's walk a little along the Petrovskaya embankment of the Malaya Neva. It is much quieter and calmer here than in the Palace Bridge area.

Вначале пройдём немного по Петровской набережной Малой Невы. Здесь гораздо тише и спокойнее, чем в районе Дворцового моста.

After admiring the colors of the sunset on the buildings and the promenade, we turn inland.

Полюбовавшись красками заката на зданиях и набережной, мы сворачиваем вглубь острова.

This is one of the buildings of the State University. The building of the Dvenadtsati Kollegiy (Twelve Colleges). At the beginning of the 19th century the State Archives was located here. Now it is a very solid educational institution.

Это одно из зданий Государственного Университа. Здание Двенадцати Коллегий. В начале 19 века здесь находился Государственный архив. Сейчас это очень солидное учебное заведение.
