Titled; Something crazy that once happened which turned-out okay.
You know that urge to go on adventures that ordinarily it doesn't look it sound dangerous until one embarks on it. Well that's the story of my Life.
Last year August, I left my hometown Abuja to my school in Abia state both in Nigeria, West Africa.
Jeshoots
The transport company I use was a popular one and I decided to use it because of its affiliated motor park in Abia state.
The journey is a 12 hour journey and we needed to have left as early as possible. Unfortunately, we left almost noon that day. No one was bothered cause we were all sure of either our relatives coming to pick us when we arrive or board a taxi.
At exactly midnight that same day, we arrived Abia state and in no time we drove to the park. Everyone alighted and started offloading their luggages from the boot.
Those that called their relatives before they arrived met them waiting for them in the park, a few others boarded a taxi, leaving me to my fate.
I had a relative to call but I didn't. I stood for a while a contemplated if I should call her or board a taxi directly to my school hostel since it's the same route.
I finally made the decision to go straight to school. I called the cab man, bargained price and off we went.
While driving I started feeling so uncomfortable with the way he spoke about clubs and night parties. He even offered to take me there in the middle of the night.
Like seriously, I'm so tired how can he even make such an offer. He started sounding serious about the offer and was heading towards a popular beer palor.
At first I thought he was following a different road due to road safety but them one thing led to another he was pulling over in front of the beer palor.
I held my cool for a while and summoned courage to threaten him that I'd shout that he kidnapped me in front of the two security guards just outside the gate.
He tried convincing for a while but I stood on my ground that I would shout. That minute, seconds felt like I was dying. Weird thoughts ran into my head.
I secretly wished that he would just turn back and take me to school. I wanted to go back to school. I was crying in my mind, scared and trembling.
After what felt like hours, he lit his ignition and drove me quietly to my hostel. I arrived my school gate and had to show them my school ID card before I was let in.
Immediately I entered my school that feeling of being in a safe environment entered me, wasn't bothered about anything.
I showed him my hostel and he drove me to the front gate, came down, offloaded my belongings and paid him.
Before he drove off, he asked me one scary question, Dear, were you scared?. Summoning courage I replied, No sir, I was just tired and I didn't want to go clubbing this night. He nodded and drove off.
I really don't know what would have become of me now if I was forced to go to that club. It was scary and crazy at the same time. I am just grateful that it turned out okay.
