Daily Painting number zillion..
#originalartwork #creativity and a touch of bad temper
Hi #GEMS this is my first post over here,,
So this is a wee little daily painting that should have take about 40 mins or less. It was just so so so so so stubborn. I don't know why. Its unusual for me to go back and fix a daily painting. Normally "it is what it is" and how ever it turns out i try and own the errors and move on. I then try and repaint it from scratch the next day. Learn the lesson and move on.
#dailypainting i love because you just go for it... but this time i just could not make the EASY TREES work. They were a muddy mess. I think i was too impatient, and my brush was too wet. Perhaps i was not in the right mood. Who knows... It just didn't work.
Filming
I filmed the painting for my you tube channel and i was so upset i took the camera off and threw the painting on the floor in a fit. There it lay for about 2 weeks... glaring at me every day from the floor. I would step over it and kick it a bit lol...
Happily it fell on the puppy pee pads i have over the floor for just such an occasion and not the carpet. Unhappily my new studio area does not have concrete floors.
We used to have an awesome garage attached to the house that had a huge area that was not taken up by cars. It was well lit and my car at the time was tiny so there was heaps of space and shelves and 2 - 3 desks and room for my big painting lights.
But this one the walls are a BURNT COFFEE SNOT colour. Quite revolting (and on the refurbishment list)
METHOD
simple simple ultramarine sky and white. I should paint thicker but i don't. I'm so used to glazing with oil paints i find the thick impasto acrylic layers hard at the moment (Unless im using a palette knife and gel medium)
I then put in the road and some shadows.
Then the trees. Oh my... the mess...
it was this point that i turfed it on the ground in hate.
2 weeks later i picked the jolly thing up and was like... right... thats it... lets paint over this ugly... and i put in more shadows on the path and redid the trees.
While not super happy it is at least finished and a lesson to me in bad temper... lol
Greens Practice...
back to paintings with lots of green to make sure i don't avoid trees lol... i'm like that i will avoid it if its pissing me off.. lol
