I like to learn and on this platform I can learn, this is one of the reasons why I like to be here every day.
I learned many things by participating in various contests launched by some of our colleagues.
Because I mentioned colleagues and contests then I have to tell you about and his photography contests. These contests are not about photographic art, they are about the theme of photography. Old Dog aka
chooses a theme for each contest, namely what the photos should represent. All we have to do is start looking for the subject, either to take photos that match or to look in the archive for photos that match.
But why did I mention that I can learn from these contests? I'll explain immediately ...
The most recent contest proposed by @ kus-knee is this: The Old Dog Presents: The Juxtaposition as Art Contest!
You can read here the rules, the requirements and you can participate too. All you have to do is to post one or two photos in the comments that match the requirements.
This contest is about "The Juxtaposition". I heard about juxtaposition but I didn't know what it looked like in photos (probably in painting but here we are only talking about painting).
I like to participate in Old Dog contests. In some cases I did not participate because I could not photograph in that subject, in fact I could not.
Now, in order to participate, I need to better document what juxtaposition is. I easily found an article on this subject and so I found out that:
Merriam-Webster describes juxtaposition as “the act or an instance of placing two or more things side by side often to compare or to contrast an interesting effect.” The Collins Dictionary defines juxtaposition as “the fact that they [two contrasting objects, images, or ideas] are placed together or described together, so that the differences between them are emphasized.” Finally, the juxtaposition definition provided by the Cambridge English Dictionary simplifies the concept: “to put things that are not similar next to each other.”
To summarize these attempts to define juxtaposition, we can say that it’s about the principle of comparison. A photographer puts two objects close to each other and tries to attract the viewer’s attention to their differences. When the contrast between these two objects is the first thing that catches the viewer’s eye, juxtaposition is achieved.

That's what I meant when I said I like it here because I can learn.
However, to learn something it is not enough to find the necessary information ... you still need to be able to understand what you want to learn. Here I don't know if I managed and chose the right photos for this contest.
Today I took a long walk through two beautiful parks in Bucharest. Bucharest, the capital of Romania, where I live.
I took a lot of photos and I chose some of them that I think fit this technique called juxtaposition. I'm not sure I chose well ... the first two are for the contest!
The other photos. I'm not sure if all or at least one follows the rules. It doesn't matter too much to me now.
The important thing is that I found out about juxtaposition, I tried to document myself and understand how it is and to try to take some photos to show how much I understood. Then find out how much more I have to learn, because I want to learn more!
